Job summary

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. seeks a Software Developer to support the GMD Weapon System and Fire Control Engagement Planner teams in Huntsville, AL.

You will develop, test, and modernize software in Ada and C++ within Unix/Linux, applying MATLAB and Python for analysis and validation. The role requires a US Citizenship with an active Secret clearance and a STEM degree, plus experience translating Ada to C++ and solving physics-based algorithm problems.

Qualifications

  • Recent demonstrated software development experience using Ada or C++.

  • Experience analyzing and implementing optimization algorithms.
  • Recent experience with MATLAB and Python.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret modeling and simulation.

We are hiring a Software Developer to support the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Fire Control (GFC) Engagement Planner team, developing and testing complex software capabilities and algorithms for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This cleared defense software engineering role requires experience with C++ or Ada, MATLAB, Python, Unix/Linux, mathematical and physics-based algorithms, optimization algorithms, and modeling and simulation, along with an active Secret security clearance. This role supports software development and modernization, including translating Ada code to C++, implementing new Engagement Planner capabilities, and reviewing software requirements and test cases. You will contribute to complex, highly visible missile defense systems and fire control solutions supporting GWS mission requirements.

  • Experience with software containerization and orchestration, including Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and Docker.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, and continuous deployment using tools and technologies such as Jenkins, Ansible, Git, and GitLab.

Salary Range

Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (Based on factors such as Government labor categories (LCATs) education, experience, geographic location, etc.)
