Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and build scalable systems in a large distributed computing environment. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to bring innovative products to market and lead architectural decisions.

The role requires 5+ years of professional software development, 10+ years of programming, and experience mentoring teams; a CS degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or engineering-team leader.

A day in the life

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating new products, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years.
Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 10+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
