Software Dev Engineer III

Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer for our Content Platform team. In this role, you will provide first-level support and development for incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications. Your solutions will have a direct impact on customers. The ideal candidate is interested in a career in software development and seeks to expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first-level support for all incoming production software application issues.
- Develop monitoring solutions, troubleshoot, and debug internally developed code.
- Implement fixes for code written in Perl, C/C++, and JAVA.
- Perform SQL queries to resolve technical challenges.
- Improve systems that gather metrics on our features.
- Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
- Work alongside development on corporate and divisional software projects.
- Enhance current software, automate support processes, and document systems.
- Conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
- Design and build technologies in a large distributed computing environment.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems.
- Build scalable, fault-tolerant, low-cost, and easy-to-manage distributed storage, index, and query systems.
- Design and code solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree is required.
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Technical Skills: The candidate must be detail-oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, be able to work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coding skills in Perl, C/C++, and/or Java.
- Technical skills including Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, and UNIX/LINUX.
