Mainspring Energy, Inc. is seeking a Software Deployment Operations Manager to coordinate and execute software deployments for its fleet of Linear Generators.

You will work with cross-functional teams to translate release roadmaps into actionable deployment plans and scale the process to meet growing business needs. The role requires a detail-oriented operations leader with experience in embedded Linux, distributed systems, and a track record of improving deployment procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in software deployment or related field, with 3+ years in management.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong systems-thinking and ability to document scalable processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with embedded Linux and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of software deployment principles and Gitlab a plus.

Job Overview

Mainspring Energy is growing rapidly and has begun to deploy its Linear Generators in volume. Deploying and tracking software updates across our fleet will play a crucial role in the reliability of our product and the success of our customers.

The Software Deployment Operations Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute software deployments, while also helping to define how we continue to scale the software deployment process to meet the growing needs of the business.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and well organized operations manager who enjoys supporting complex systems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

As a leader of the deployment team, you will:

• Oversee and manage software deployment requests to support ongoing operations as well as the commissioning of new power generators
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate software release roadmaps and business objectives into long-range and capacity planning for software deployment technicians
• Understand upcoming software changes and translate those into updated software deployment procedures
• Track and report software deployment progress and outcomes, including making periodic reports to leadership on key operating success metrics
• Refine deployment procedures and make recommendations on how to continuously improve the software deployment process
• Ensure that new software innovations and improvements are delivered to customers

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience and with 3+ years of management experience, including of remote employees and contractors
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Driven and self-directed systems-thinker responsible for creating or improving effective engineering processes
• Excellent communicator with demonstrated collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
• Experience working with embedded linux systems and distributed systems
• Knowledge of software development and deployment principles
• Ability to translate complexity into structured procedures for repeated execution
• Ability to coordinate across teams
• Experience working in a dynamic engineering environment, where systems and processes are evolving rapidly
• Strong understanding of electrical system concepts and components, a plus
• Experience working with Gitlab a plus

$115,000 - $135,000 a year

This position is onsite at our Menlo Park HQ. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee. Along with the base salary, Mainspring offers pre-IPO stock options + benefits.
