Job summary

The MITRE Corporation invites software/CS interns to join a team of experts and apply academic knowledge to real-world projects across multiple domains. You will gain hands-on experience in software development, AI/ML, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and more, contributing to ongoing MITRE initiatives.

Applicants must be full‑time students pursuing CS/SE degrees, maintain enrollment the next term, and demonstrate strong academic performance. The on‑site expectation is three days per week.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines.
• Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the internship.
• Foundational knowledge of computer science and/or software engineering methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.
• Must have sustained excellence in academic performance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on Front-End, Back-End, Middleware, or Full-Stack software development projects.
• Explore AI/ML, cybersecurity software development, DevSecOps, or mobile computing tasks.
• Work on Embedded Systems/IoT and UX/UI related activities.
• Participate in Modeling and Simulation, Model-Based Engineering, or VR initiatives.
