Job summary

MITRE is offering software and computer science internship opportunities where students collaborate with a team of experts to apply academic knowledge and gain hands-on experience in areas such as Front-End, Back-End, AI/ML, cybersecurity, and more. Ideal candidates are full-time students pursuing accredited CS/Software Eng degrees who will remain enrolled after the internship and can commit to on-site work at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student pursuing an accredited degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines.
• Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the internship.
• Foundational knowledge of computer science and/or software engineering methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.
• Must have sustained excellence in academic performance.
• On-site requirement of 3 days a week minimum.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of experts to apply your academic knowledge and gain hands-on experience.
• Contribute to Front-End, Back-End, or Full-Stack development efforts.
• Engage with AI/ML, cybersecurity, or DevSecOps projects as appropriate.
• Participate in software development life cycle activities and code reviews.
• Support applied research activities and prototyping in a mission-focused environment.
