The Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist is responsible for tracking and managing a company's software licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor contracts, optimizing software usage, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The Specialist will review software inventory, usage data, and license agreements to maintain efficient and cost-effective software deployments across the organization; essentially, they act as a "software accountant" to make sure the company is using software appropriately and not overspending on licenses.

Your Impact
  • Participate in a cross functional squad with members from FinOps, Procurement, Finance, and Technology Planning to deliver on the company’s software asset management objectives
  • Identify and track all software installations across the company
  • Review vendor contracts to understand license terms and entitlements
  • Generate reports on software usage, compliance status, and cost trends
  • Review software usage data to identify underutilized licenses and potential for reclamation
  • Identify opportunities to reduce software costs
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models (per-user, per-device, volume licensing)
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and reporting software
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex license terms to non-technical users
  • Knowledge of IT asset management practices and tools
  • Bachelor’s degree with typically 2 years of related experience or Master’s degree without experience or typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree

Base Compensation

$65,413.60 - $89,943.70USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
