Job summary

Hunter Industries is seeking a Software Asset Management Analyst to optimize software and cloud investments. You will track software licenses, monitor usage, and partner with business units to right-size licenses and minimize costs.

The role supports renewal decisions, vendor evaluations, and cloud billing analysis including Snowflake and AWS. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least two years of SAM experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in software asset management or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or IT-related discipline.
• Experience with SAM or SaaS management platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud cost management/FinOps practices preferred.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication with users, managers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an accurate inventory of software applications and licenses.
• Reviews license assignments and usage to identify unused or redundant licenses.
• Partners with users and managers to confirm license needs.
• Tracks software renewals and supports renewal decisions.
• Develops and maintains reporting on software costs and usage.
• Provides assistance with cloud cost reporting and optimization.
• Supports software vendor evaluations and procurement requests.
• Identifies best SaaS solutions to meet business needs.
• Supports vendor management activities and SLA monitoring.
• Maintains reconciliation of licenses against deployed and consumed licenses.

Education
