As a Software Architect Sr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Farmers Branch TX.

Responsibilities

• Target State Definition: Define and evolve the future-state data vision (platforms, flows, capabilities).
• Identify gaps between current and target state and guide roadmap priorities.
• Technical Leadership: Bring strong depth across data platforms, pipelines, cloud, and integrations; provide technical guidance and guardrails; drive reusable, platform‑first mindset vs point solutions.
• Problem Solving & Solution Shaping: Ensure alignment to enterprise patterns (data domains, medallion layers, etc.).
• Cross‑Team Influence: Work across engineering, data, product, and business teams; align stakeholders on direction, trade‑offs, and sequencing.
• Leads in overall design of cross‑functional, multi‑platform, and web‑based application systems; oversees all application system processes.
• Develops application architecture and blueprints aimed at reflecting enterprise business logic.
• Defines application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. Directs mapping activities on specific technology platforms.
• Provides technical guidance to application development teams; consults on integration and conversion activities.
• Conducts reviews and analyses organizational needs and goals to develop and implement applications.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role. Requirements include:

• University or college degree required, with 8+ years industry experience.
• Preferred education: Master’s, PhD, or relevant certifications.
• Experience with enterprise architecture, data platforms, pipelines, cloud, integrations, and application architecture.
• Strong analytical thinking, application development tools, IT architecture, platform architecture, and software process improvement.

Preferred skills: competitive advantages, customer solutions, design, enterprise architecture framework, machine learning (ML), risk assessments, technical knowledge.
