Job summary

Matlen Silver in Roseland, NJ is seeking a Software Architect to design and implement scalable, secure software solutions. You will document Domain Models, API schemas, and participate hands-on in production code using MERN, GraphQL, and related tools.

You will lead architecture discussions, translate complex domains into maintainable designs, and contribute to automation and DevOps. A strong TDD background, experience with UML diagrams, and experience with NodeJS/Java and Docker are required.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
• TDD experience a must; we automate quality gates and practice true CD.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project and time management in fast-paced development environments.
• ADLC experience.
• Proficiency translating complex solutions into UML diagrams.
• Experience with NodeJS/Java, Jenkins and Docker.
• API design experience in integrating systems with independent domains.

Job description

The Software Architect will be responsible for investigating, designing and implementing technical solutions, and working with the lean/agile teams implementing them. These activities include, but are not limited to documenting Domain Models, writing and maintaining API schemas and documentation, contributing to the ADLC and software development processes, and working hands on to the coding of production code, automation, and supporting tools using the MERN stack, DSQL and GraphQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions between domain experts to extract the necessary information to develop an accurate model.
• Quickly grasp new domains and translate them into scalable, cacheable, performant and secure solution design
• Hands on maintain and contribute to the codebase (This is a hands own role with 50-50 architecture/code split)
• Create and maintain Domain Models as part of the Architecture/Development team Create and maintain API and Solution documentation
• Work as part of fast paced innovation/development teams to document technical decisions evolve them during discovery and implementation

• Have designed APIs used to integrate two isolated systems with independent domains. Experience as an API or backend developer.
• Experience in SOX compliant systems, E-Commerce, and/or Cybersecurity a big plus.
