Job summary

Christy Sports in Vail, Colorado, is hiring a Store Sales Associate to greet customers, understand their needs, and guide them to the right ski and outdoor equipment. You will use product knowledge to close sales, process transactions at the register, and help customers with accessories and warranties as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing and comfortable helping customers.
• Love skiing or snowboarding and understanding equipment.
• Basic computer skills for POS and inventory tasks.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in the store and build rapport to understand needs.
• Provide product knowledge and accurate information to close sales.

Summary Description: Reporting to the Store Manager, this position is responsible for the management of the Softgoods sales staff and department inventory control.

Job Responsibilities

• Greet all customers in the store
• Develop a rapport with the customers through conversation to understand their needs
• Build trust from the customer through product knowledge and the delivery of accurate information
• Bring the sale to a successful close
• Expand the sale by demonstrating knowledge of accessory and/or related products or warranty agreements as appropriate for the needs of the customer
• Operate the cash register to complete the sale
• Merchandise the store by stocking shelves, counters, or tables with products
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Be Friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with people
• Love to ski or snowboard and some knowledge of how it all works
• Have basic computer skills
• English fluency, written and verbal
• Need to be flexible in your schedule to get the most out of ski time, including working split shifts, nights, holidays and weekends
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and regularly lift 25 pounds
