Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Mid-level Soft Goods Product Engineer to develop and test materials for footwear, apparel, or equipment, applying systems engineering and pattern knowledge. You will work with CAD/CAM data and manufacturing processes, while coordinating with senior staff to drive solutions that meet performance criteria.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in soft goods manufacturing, product creation, research and development, product testing, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, design sketches, or 2D or 3D CAD or CAM files
• Experience analyzing digital data sources to inform product decisions or technical requirements
• Knowledge of pattern engineering, tooling, materials, test methodologies, and manufacturing processes for footwear, apparel, or individual equipment
• Knowledge of industry trends and advancements in automated manufacturing processes
• Ability to identify and drive valuable engineering solutions from concept through manufacturing
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Apply materials science and engineering principles to develop, process, and test materials to create solutions that meet specific technical and performance criteria, utilizing a systems engineering approach and engineering tools, including DE and physical, to optimize material selection and improve manufacturing processes.
• Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and may review or guide activities of more junior employees.
