Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Cognitive Domain Lead to join our team, supporting the POTFF program. This senior role leads development, delivery, and continuous improvement of cognitive performance and brain health initiatives to enhance SOF readiness, resilience, performance, and career longevity.

The position focuses on brain health monitoring, attention, working memory, situational awareness, adaptability, and rapid decision-making. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of cognitive performance, brain health, neuroscience, human performance, psychology, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading programs, multidisciplinary teams, or complex human performance initiatives.
• Strong planning, program management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to use data, research, and evidence-based practices to guide decisions and measure outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope including planning activities and artifacts.
• Oversee large multi-project programs including planning, staffing, and execution.
• Create and execute project work plans and adapt to changing needs.
• Identify resources and assign responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain resource plans and documentation.
• Baseline projects and forecast efforts using metrics.
• Review deliverables before presenting to management and customers.
• Apply PMI methodology and enforce project standards.
• Prepare for engagement reviews and QA procedures.
• Minimize risk exposure on projects.
• Communicate project information to management, stakeholders, and customers.
• Resolve issues and manage impact on project timelines and outcomes.
• Ensure project documents are complete and stored properly.
• Track lessons learned and apply to future projects.
• Close out projects properly.
• Supervise staff and provide performance feedback.
• Escalate and prioritize workloads; act as liaison with vendors and monitor SLAs.
• Draft vendor contracts, SOWs, RFPs/RFIs, change requests and requirements.
• Lead continuous improvement teams.
