We are hiring a motivated, full-time Sod Farm Manager responsible for mowing, fertilization, irrigation, spraying, harvesting, and general farm upkeep. The Farm Manager will oversee day-to-day farm operations and report directly to the Owner Operator, communicating farm conditions and needs.

The Sod Farm Manager and two team members will safely operate equipment such as mowers, harvesters, pivot irrigation systems, tractors, and forklifts daily. The manager is responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained, fueled, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Harvesting Operations: Ensure sod and pallet quality meets customer satisfaction. Operate or oversee operation of sod harvesters, adjusting settings for optimal cutting. Maintain or oversee maintenance of harvesters.
• Mowing Operations: Operate or supervise a 3-deck roller mower and maintain equipment.
• Irrigation, Pest, and Weed Control: Determine and adjust irrigation, pesticide, and herbicide needs. Operate irrigation systems and sprayers.
• Forklift Operations: Operate or oversee forklifts, staging pallets, loading shipments, and moving supplies. Maintain forklift equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous farming experience required.
• Experience with sod harvesters, mowers, irrigation systems, and forklifts preferred.
• Experience maintaining farm equipment preferred.
• Previous Sod Farm Manager experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in farming.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
• Valid State Driver's License.
• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform or oversee repairs.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull heavy materials (50+ lbs) frequently.

Compensation: $50,000 per year for the right candidate.
