Job summary

Abbott House Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) Program seeks a Socio-Therapist Supervisor with strong leadership skills to lead a team that provides and coordinates the best care, physically, emotionally and mentally, to Abbott House children and ensures that every child in the EFFC program is safe, that every child wellbeing is being met.

The EFFC supervisor must work collaboratively with the EFFC case planning team and other supportive entities to ensure that every child achieves timely

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW/LMSW) or related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to train and coach team members and manage time.
  • Ability to manage stress and work with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with ACS/OCFS/OMRDD/DYCD and related agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team delivering care and coordination for Abbott House children in the EFFC program.
  • Provide guidance on clinical intervention and behavior planning.
  • Supervise staff weekly and lead monthly team meetings.
  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings and assess staff performance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely case records.

JOB SUMMARY

Abbott House Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) Program seeks a Socio-Therapist Supervisor with strong leadership skills to lead a team that provides and coordinates the best care, physically, emotionally and mentally, to Abbott House children and ensures that every child in the EFFC program is safe, that every child wellbeing is being met. The EFFC supervisor must work collaboratively with the EFFC case planning team and other supportive entities to ensure that every child achieves timely permanency.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for behavior planning for each child in the EFFC program.
  • Provides appropriate guidance around clinical intervention
  • Fosters and maintains a supportive working environment which encourages learning
  • Provides formal and informal individual supervision to each team member weekly and holds team meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Participates and contributes in Treatment Team meetings on a monthly basis
  • Evaluate staff performance, accurately assess the strengths and developmental needs of all team members
  • Holds staff accountable for their performance and celebrates strong performance
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation and record keeping
  • Responds with urgency to case emergencies both during work hours and after hours when warranted
  • Works collaboratively with the EFFC case planning team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

An employee in this position is regularly required to stand; walk, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to keep balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Computer - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor must be able to use a computer and able to learn software programs

Office Equipment- The Socio-Therapist Supervisor is required to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment.

Communication - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor needs to be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language

Writing - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.

Lifting - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor may frequently lift 0-25 lbs., occasionally lift 25-50 lbs., and rarely lift over 50 lbs.

Push/Pull - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor may frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force, occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force, and rarely push/pull over 45 lbs.

Sitting, Standing and Walking - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor will be required to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day.

Stooping -The Socio-Therapist Supervisor may occasionally stoop. This is defined as bending body downward by bending spine at the waist.

Kneeling -The Socio-Therapist Supervisor may occasionally kneel. This is defined as bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s).

Crouching - The Socio-Therapist Supervisor may occasionally crouch. This is defined as bending body downward and forward by bending spine and legs.

Work environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate due to talk and movement of the program participants and other co- workers. The noise level can increase on occasion due to yelling or screaming by the participants of the programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW/LMSW) or related field.
  • Must have excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to train and coach team members
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • Ability to manage stress
  • Have strong team building skills; Practice and encourage Teamwork;
  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures
  • Familiarity with Administration for Children Services (ACS), Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS), Office of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD), Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) and other relevant municipal and state agencies.
  • Ability to use MS Word, spreadsheets, and CONNECTIONS.
HOURS AND TIME OF WORK

Full-Time- 35 Hours per week
