Job summary

Central Oregon Community College seeks a part-time Sociology instructor to provide instruction to students, direct discussion, and evaluate performance. Courses may be delivered in person, online, or remotely, with at least one office hour per week per class.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Sociology or graduate coursework, demonstrate effective teaching with diverse learners, and be able to adapt to varied schedules including day, evening, and weekend classes.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Sociology or 30 quarter hours of graduate sociology coursework.
• Experience teaching sociology and ability to apply course outcomes.
• Ability to use technology to teach traditional, hybrid, or online courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in sociology using approved course outcomes.
• Hold at least one scheduled office hour per class per week.
• Utilize LMS and other college tools to support instruction.
• Participate in course assessment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
