Job summary

Germanna Community College in Virginia is seeking an adjunct Sociology instructor for the 2027 academic year. The candidate will teach Sociology both in-person and online, up to 12 credit hours in fall/spring and up to 8 in summer.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Sociology.
• Ability to teach classrooms and online.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology and AI tools as needed.
• Experience or willingness to engage in online course development.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific Sociology classes in-person and online.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess progress.
• Adhere to GCC and VCCS policies and regulations.
• Maintain current competence in Sociology and online teaching practices.
