Job summary

Motlow State Community College is seeking an Adjunct Sociology Faculty (Pool) to provide high-quality instruction in accordance with catalog descriptions and approved syllabi. Courses may include dual enrollment at area high schools and travel between campuses as assigned.

This pool position supports student learning, mentors progress toward academic goals, and maintains accessibility for students while delivering current sociology content.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in sociology or a qualifying field earned from a regionally accredited institution by the application date.
• Qualifying Fields: Sociology
• Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in sociology or a qualifying field by the application date.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses as assigned per catalog description and approved syllabus; teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools as assigned; travel to multiple campuses as assigned.
• Collaborate collegially with faculty, department lead/program director, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs.
• Collaborate with faculty, administration and staff to support students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; work as part of discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams.
• Stay current with developments in the teaching discipline and incorporate updates into instruction.
