Job summary

Motlow State Community College is seeking an adjunct anthropology faculty member for a pool position to provide high-quality instruction across assigned courses in accordance with catalog descriptions and syllabi.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in anthropology or a qualifying field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline by the application date. Experience teaching at a community college is preferred and teaching across Motlow campuses may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Anthropology or a qualifying field by the application date.
  • Alternatively, Master’s with 18 graduate hours in the discipline by the application date.
  • Commitment to teaching across Motlow State campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses as assigned per catalog and syllabus.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership on curricular issues.
  • Collaborate with administration to support students and college operations.
  • Stay current with developments in the teaching discipline and update instruction accordingly.
  • Support curricular and co-curricular activities within the college.
  • Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
  • Maintain availability to communicate with and meet students regarding coursework.
  • Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests.
  • Submit all requested paperwork timely and completely.
  • Perform duties in accordance with MSCC policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
