Job summary

The Sinclair Sociology Department is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face courses at our downtown Dayton campus, Courseview campus in Mason, OH and Centerville campus. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

This position is open to residents of Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky who can perform work there. Minimum requirements include a master’s degree in sociology (or 18 graduate hours in sociology) and demonstrated teaching ability; prior

• Master's degree in sociology or a master's with 18 graduate hours in sociology.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to innovative strategies to improve student learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a diverse college environment.
• Ability to use modern educational technology for instruction.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the department for face-to-face sections.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare syllabi for assigned sections per policies.
• Apply effective teaching methods and appropriate instructional tech.
• Adapt methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate student work promptly and maintain progress records.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Adhere to credit-hour limits (maximum of 12 hours/semester).
