We are seeking a Social Worker Supervisor to provide programs, counseling, and case management services for hospital patients. As a Social Worker Supervisor, you will supervise social work staff who provide services, programs, counseling, and case management to patients at Clarks Summit State Hospital. Your duties include reviewing and updating job descriptions, completing performance evaluations, and reviewing the written work of your subordinates. You will oversee all social service procedures, including new patient admission, data collection, therapy, discharge planning, and documentation. You will ensure that subordinates meet quality standards and follow regulatory and hospital standards in developing individualized treatment plans. Additionally, you will collaborate with other discipline supervisors to plan and coordinate treatment programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  1. Full-time employment
  2. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  3. Travel and overtime as needed
  4. Telework: No telework option for this position.
  5. Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  1. One year of experience as a Social Worker 2 or Forensic Social Worker 2 (or equivalent) and a master’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
  2. Three years of professional social work experience, including one year in a lead or advisory role, and a master’s degree in social work or social welfare.

  • A medical examination is required after a conditional offer.
  • Position falls under the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring criminal history background checks (PA State Police and FBI clearance).
