Job description

The Division of Adult Institutions is recruiting to fill a Social Worker Senior Limited Term Employment (LTE) position, located at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin.

Applicants must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin in order to be considered. LTE positions are limited to working a total of 1039 hours over a period of 12 months.

Position Summary

This position will provide professional social work and case management services to adult persons in our care in the contracted county jails. This position assesses persons in our care’s problems and capacities; discusses case planning; monitor’s progress, provides counseling and develops and refers persons in our care to community resources upon transfer or release. This position also coordinates multidisciplinary treatment efforts with other institution staff, parole agents, persons in our care and community resources.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range 12-63 with a starting pay of $36.11/hour - $39.73/hour, depending on full years of certification.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants MUST Possess An Active Social Worker Credential Issued By The Wisconsin Department Of Safety And Professional Services In The Form Of a

• Social Worker certificate (120)
• Advanced Practice Social Worker certificate (121)
• Independent Clinical Social Worker certificate (122) or
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker license (123)

In addition to the credential above, applicants must 12 or more months of social work experience with correctional clients or 2 or more years of total social work experience. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
