Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL seeks a Licensed Social Worker to provide clinical social work services to patients and families, conducting assessments, counseling, goal setting, advocacy, and care coordination within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include MSW from CSWE-accredited program, Florida LCSW or out-of-state LCSW with FL LCSW within 6 months, and at least 2 years post-MS W experience; oncology experience preferred.

Summary Provides clinical social work services to and in partnership with patients, families, and significant others. These include social work assessments, counseling, goal setting, advocacy, concrete service provision and implementation of care plans. Makes referrals to outside agencies and assists in coordination of continuity of care. Works collaboratively with and provides leadership within the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

The Licensed Social Worker shall be highly knowledgeable about the psychosocial impact of disease on individuals and families as it relates to their age and stage of development.

Will provide mentorship to other staff based on skill sets and expertise. Requires intermittent supervision based on experience, licensure status and educational needs. Provides student supervision on an intermittent basis. The Licensed Social Worker represents and supports the mission, philosophy and goals of the Cancer Center.

Minimum Required Credentials

Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE approved school Florida LCSW or out-of-state LCSW and obtain FL LCSW within 6 months of hire Minimum of 2 years post MSW experience in social work required. Prefer minimum of 1 year in oncology social work.

Training Required

Competencies: Social worker must have clear written and verbal communication skills and basic competence in various computer applications. Annually demonstrates competencies per departmental checklist for position.

Salary Range

Salary Range $69,929.60 - $106,641.60 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
