Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a per diem, day-shift role in the Case Management team at RWJ New Brunswick. You will provide frontline therapy to adolescents in specialized inpatient programs, conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, and mentor social work staff.

The position emphasizes trauma-informed care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuity of care with CSOC and external agencies. NJ LCSW licensure is required; LCADC is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Active, current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New Jersey.
• Active Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) credential is highly desired.
• Previous professional clinical experience in community-based youth programs or adolescent psychiatric settings.
• Minimum of one year post-LCSW clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to inform treatment planning.
• Design, implement, and document individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans.
• Lead individual, group, and clinical family psychotherapy sessions with adolescents.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to LSWs and social work students.

Typical Day might include the following:

• Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments to analyze family dynamics and determine targeted, trauma-informed treatment needs.
• Designing, implementing, and documenting individualized, strength-based treatment plans utilizing specialized therapy modalities.
• Leading high-impact individual, group, and clinical family psychotherapy sessions tailored to adolescent developmental needs.
• Providing vital clinical supervision and mentorship to LSWs and social work students in alignment with state licensing and field instructions.
• Actively participating in and maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic milieu program on the unit.
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary treatment team to regularly review, update, and implement continuing care and discharge plans.
• Partnering with the Children's System of Care (CSOC), PerformCare, and external community agencies to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Ensuring precise payor authorization alignment, completing accurate clinical records, and processing timely billing documentation.
