Job Title: School Social Worker
Classification: Exempt (Professional), salaried
Work Days: 246 days/year (excluding paid holidays)
Hours per Day: 8 hours
Salary & Benefits: Starting at $55,000; eligible for "Support Staff" benefits
Reports To: Director or Principal
Supervises: No direct reports
The School Social Worker addresses social, emotional, and mental health barriers to learning, providing services at various levels and focusing on either Intermediate (5th or 6th grade) or Middle (7th or 8th grade), with flexibility for adjustments based on student and family needs.
Education: Master’s degree (MSW) in Social Work.
Certificates & Licenses: Indiana School Service Personnel license (School Social Worker) or Indiana Professional Licensing Agency license (LSW or LCSW).
Experience: Prior school social work experience preferred.
Other: Ability to perform essential functions and meet physical, sensory, and environmental requirements.
Primarily involves talking, listening, and interacting with students and families, with movement around the school. Must communicate effectively, read, analyze data, and present information clearly.
Tasks are performed with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
