Job summary

Benefis Health System in Montana is seeking a licensed medical social worker to coordinate care with physicians, patients and families to optimize outcomes.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Social Work, current state license, and at least one year of healthcare social work experience; a valid driver's license with insurance is required.

Qualifications

• Current state clinical social worker license
• Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work
• At least one year of social work experience in a healthcare setting
• Valid state driver’s license with proof of current insurance

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care planning and delivery with the physician, patient and family/caregivers, other healthcare team members and Agency staff to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
• Educates patients, their families, caregivers and other staff as appropriate, in appropriate medical social work modalities and interventions.
• Provides, modifies or discontinues medical social work modalities and interventions based upon an ongoing assessment/reassessment of the patient’s clinical status and in accordance with physician orders.
• Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
• Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
• Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned.
• Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency.
• Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.
