Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified and compassionate Social Worker to serve the George community. The role centers on assessment, intervention, and referral to support individuals, families, and groups facing social challenges, with the aim of enhancing wellbeing and functional capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work is essential.
• Registered with the SACSSP.
• Experience in a community-based social work setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and ethics.
• Excellent assessment, intervention, and case management skills.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and strengths.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans in collaboration with clients.
• Provide counseling and therapeutic support to individuals and families experiencing crises or life challenges.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate community resources, health services, and support networks.
• Advocate for clients' rights and access to services, intervening when necessary.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential case records in compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work is essential.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
• Proven experience working in a community-based social work setting.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and ethical principles governing social work practice.
• Excellent assessment, intervention, and case management skills.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities, particularly in George .
