Job summary

San Bernardino County is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to design and deliver training for social work professionals within the County's Children and Family Services (CFS). The role covers needs assessments, curriculum development, lesson planning, and evaluating training effectiveness, in coordination with CFS and the regional training academy.

Responsibilities include preparing training schedules, developing materials, and supporting ongoing training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Gerontology or other behavioral science.
• Education: Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Gerontology or other behavioral science.
• Experience: Option 1 requires 3+ years in social work at SSP II level or higher in CFS/CPS/child welfare.
• Experience: Option 2 requires 2+ years in social work at SSP II level or higher in CFS/CPS/child welfare.
• Substitution: Training/education experience can substitute for one year of CFS experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs for social work professionals within San Bernardino County CFS.
• Support training initiatives and conduct training needs assessments.
• Develop curricula, lesson plans, and training materials.
• Conduct training evaluations and analysis; prepare and coordinate training schedules with CFS and regional child welfare training academy.
