Charles Hunter Associates is assisting Manchester Local Authority with a locum Family First Team Manager role. The post leads a frontline children’s social care team, overseeing child and family assessments, child protection, early help, family support and safeguarding interventions in a hybrid setting with 2-3 office days.

The position requires 3 years’ post-qualified experience in a Local Authority and prior team management or supervisory experience in frontline children’s services.

Family First Team Manager | Manchester | £46.00 per hour | Hybrid

Join a Family First Team within a Local Authority based in Manchester. The Team Manager will lead a frontline children's social care team, overseeing child and family assessments, child protection, early help, family support and safeguarding interventions. The role involves managing complex cases, supporting children and families, reducing the need for children to enter care and promoting positive outcomes through early intervention and multi-agency working. The role offers £46.00/hour, hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office and an initial 3-month contract, with the potential to extend to 6 months.

This is a locum opportunity requiring 3 years' post-qualified experience within a Local Authority, alongside previous team management or supervisory experience in frontline children's services. Experience in child protection, safeguarding, family assessments, CIN, CP and pre-proceedings is essential. Strong knowledge of the Children Act, threshold decisions, performance management, quality assurance and multi-agency safeguarding will be beneficial.
