Job summary

The University of Tennessee College of Social Work invites applications for an assistant or associate professor in social work with an independent research trajectory and the ability to collaborate with current faculty on interdisciplinary and community-based projects.

We seek candidates who can contribute to strong scholarship and education, with a focus on health and well-being, AI for social good, and local community research.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Social Work or a related field; ABDs considered if the dissertation is completed by July 31, 2027.
• Evidence of external funding potential for Assistant Professor; established record for Associate Professor.
• Commitment to high-quality graduate and undergraduate education and inclusive climate in line with CSWE standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop an independent research agenda with potential for extramural funding.
• Contribute to high-quality graduate and undergraduate social work education.
• Collaborate with current faculty on interdisciplinary and community-based research.
• Promote inclusive environment for all members of the university community.
