Florida Gulf Coast University invites applications for a full‑time, nine‑month Assistant Professor position to begin August 2027. The role involves teaching across BSW and MSW curricula, primarily on the main campus with possible off‑campus sites, and developing a robust research program.

The candidate will deliver interactive lectures, advise students, participate in curriculum/activity development, and contribute to accreditation processes.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Social Work (Ph.D./DSW) or a closely related field.
• MSW degree from a CSWE‑accredited social work program.
• ABD will be considered if degree is to be conferred by Aug 7, 2027; Lecturer on fixed contract if ABD.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 3/3 (Fall/Spring) load of core and/or elective social work courses in BSW and MSW.
• Plan, prepare, and teach courses with syllabi, materials, and assessments.
• Deliver engaging lectures aligned with curriculum goals and accreditation.
• Maintain high standards of instruction and engage in reflective improvement.
• Provide office hours, academic advising, and student support.
• Utilize LMS and instructional technologies effectively.
• Collaborate on curriculum development and program advancement.
• Ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.
• Develop and maintain an active research program with student involvement.
• Engage in scholarly publications and grantsmanship; continued professional development.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and service.
