Springfield City School District in west-central Ohio seeks a Social Studies Teacher at Schaefer Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The district serves about 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students and offers a 1:1 initiative and YouMedia Center to enrich learning.

You will develop engaging lessons, support diverse learners, participate in professional development, and collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Ohio Department of Education required.
• Reading Endorsement or Praxis 5203 (Teaching Reading: Elementary Education) or in process.
• Willingness to participate in professional development and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for diverse learners.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction.
• Use multiple instructional approaches to meet student needs.
• Engage students with active, hands-on learning and innovative methods.
• Maintain accurate records and report grades and progress.
• Collaborate with staff and communicate with parents.
