Atlantic City School District is seeking a Social Studies Teacher for middle school (grades 6-8) districtwide. The candidate must possess appropriate NJ Department of Education certifications or be eligible and able to complete required programs.

Responsibilities include delivering Social Studies instruction, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and communicating effectively with students and staff.

NJ Department of Education Certification Required

• Elementary School Teacher K - 8 or
• Elementary School Teacher K - 6 plus certification in Middle School Social Studies or
• Social Studies K-12 certification or
• qualify for certification through the Limited Instructional Certification Program

Qualifications:

• Holder of a Certificates of Eligibility must complete the 50 hour pre-professional experience as required by the NJ Department of Education
• Demonstrates knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in English language
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
