Social Studies Teacher/Head Girls Basketball Coach (Grades: 9-12) - (RTP20250508-019)

Description

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements, with written evidence of preparation.
  • Prepare lessons accommodating different student learning styles.
  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior.
  • Implement a student evaluation system within prescribed guidelines and record progress, reporting to parents as needed.
  • Teach the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the grade level.
  • Plan lessons aligned with subject objectives and prepare substitute lesson plans.
  • Utilize diverse media and methods to motivate students and maximize instructional time.
  • Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
  • Be available for counseling students and parents before and after school.
  • Represent the educational program to the community through open house and PTA meetings.
  • Coordinate work with aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers when applicable.
  • Participate in the evaluation process with the principal following district guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.
  • Perform all other assigned tasks and duties.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.

Work Environment

The noise level is usually moderate. Travel across the district is required. Remote work is not an option; regular attendance at the campus is essential.

Qualifications

The requirements include:
