Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a County Social Studies Fair Coordinator for an extracurricular contract position. The role reports to the Assistant Superintendent and supports event planning at the county level.

You will schedule meetings, coordinate teachers, prepare materials, manage budgets, arrange facilities, and produce programs and recognitions for participants. A valid Professional Teaching Certificate is required; substitutes may apply.

Qualifications

• Professional Teaching Certificate required. Preference for those employed in full-time positions.
• Substitutes may apply.

Responsibilities

• Schedules dates for organizational meetings and events
• Arranges to contact other teachers involved
• Communicates with those involved
• Prepares press releases
• Prepares all advance work, i.e., music, test questions, project descriptions and labels
• Sees that all information regarding student participation is complete
• Determines and orders supplies needed
• Submits proposed budget
• Makes arrangements for facilities use
• Prepares and purchases awards and/or participation certificates
• Prepares programs for distribution to spectators
• Other duties assigned by Assistant Superintendent
• Coordinator duties will not conflict with regularly assigned school duties and responsibilities during school hours
• Applicants who have unsatisfactory evaluations, have been dismissed or had their contracts non-renewed for cause by another school district will not be considered eligible for consideration
