Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a County Math Field Day Coordinator to organize county level academic competitions and coordinate with students, parents, and schools. This extracurricular assignment reports to the Assistant Superintendent and requires a Professional Teaching Certificate in the appropriate curriculum area.

The role includes developing tests, arranging facilities and budgets, communicating details, and ensuring data integrity for participant information and awards.

Qualifications

• Professional Teaching Certificate in the appropriate area of curriculum.
• Substitutes may apply.
• Preference will be given to those employed in full-time positions.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage county level academic competitions
• Develop write or assist in creating county math tests and materials
• Communicate competition details to students , parents and schools
• Register county winner to advance to regional and state competitions
• Schedules dates for organizational meetings and events
• Arranges to contact other teachers involved
• Communicates with those involved
• Prepares press releases
• Prepares all advance work, i.e., music, test questions, project descriptions and labels
• Sees that all information regarding student participation is complete
• Determines and orders supplies needed
• Submits proposed budget
• Makes arrangements for facilities use
• Prepares and purchases awards and/or participation certificates
• Prepares programs for distribution to spectators
• Other duties assigned by Assistant Superintendent
• Coordinator duties will not conflict with regularly assigned school duties and responsibilities during school hours

Education
