Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Education is seeking a senior Education Consultant to design and review social studies assessment items, align them to state standards, and support administrators and educators statewide. You will lead programs, coordinate with LDOE staff, and advise on policy and assessment practices.

The role requires extensive experience in education and strong communication, with duties spanning development, training, and on-site support for districts, schools, and higher

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR six years of full-time work experience plus four years of education-related experience; OR a bachelor’s degree plus four years in education/administration; OR an advanced degree plus three years.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings and review peer performance.
• Set program goals and develop implementation plans.
• Provide regular updates to the Assessment Director and Assistant Superintendent.
• Collaborate with Louisiana Department of Education staff to stay current on state/federal programs.
• Advise superintendents, educators, and stakeholders on policies and regulations.
• Research and develop solutions based on trends and legislative changes.
• Plan and conduct professional development, workshops, and conferences for educators and institutions.
• Travel to schools or districts to provide on-site consultation and technical assistance.
