Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Social Services Program Consultant 3 focused on the Resource Database (DDS RDB) and Platform28. You will design configurations, coordinate with vendors, and train ADRC staff to use the systems effectively. Travel statewide is required.

You will act as a subject matter expert, develop guidelines, and oversee user access, with a focus on improving service delivery to vulnerable populations in Georgia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of professional experience including one (1) year in a lead/supervisory role, OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience at SSP2 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business needs related to the DDS RDB and Platform28.
  • Collaborate with DAS leadership, database/vendor teams to implement updates and enhancements.
  • Serve as liaison between leadership, program staff, system vendors, and ADRC end users.

Position Location

This position is based in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate business needs related to the DDS RDB and Platform28 and assist in designing or updating configurations to address those needs.
  • Work closely with the DAS Program Integrity database lead, database vendor, and Platform28 vendor to implement system updates and enhancements; manage help desk tickets and track their resolution; and submit enhancement requests as directed by DAS leadership.
  • Act as a liaison between DAS leadership, program staff, system vendors, and ADRC end users.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with ADRC program staff to review system issues, gather feedback, and identify potential improvements.
  • Develop user guides for the DDS RDB and Platform28 tailored for ADRC users.
  • Partner with the DAS Program Integrity database lead to oversee and manage DDS RDB user access.
  • Coordinate with the Platform28 vendor to manage user access to Platform28.
  • Draft ADRC policies related to the DDS RDB and Platform28.
  • Monitor organizational processes associated with the use of the DDS RDB and Platform28.
  • Communicate system updates and changes to ADRC users and support testing of new releases in collaboration with the DAS Program Integrity database lead and Platform28 vendor.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the DDS RDB and Platform28; provide training, technical assistance, and ongoing support to ADRC staff.
  • Identify and apply for relevant grant opportunities.
  • Travel statewide as needed to conduct training and attend meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of professional job‑related experience which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role. OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Services Program Consultant 2 (SSP041) or equivalent position.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following education/skills/experience: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Hands‑on experience with WellSky or Platform28 systems.
  • Background in project management, IT, or systems analysis.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including skills in computer systems, hardware, software, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with the statewide aging services network or related human services systems.
  • Experience delivering training, consultation, technical assistance, or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage system setup and configuration, including installation, documentation, testing, training, and implementation of new applications.
  • Ability to contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of information systems to align with business and user requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and external partners to define project scope, system objectives, troubleshoot issues, and identify best practices.
  • Skilled in gathering and organizing system requirements through specifications, data mapping, process diagrams, and flowchart development.
