Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a County Social Services Aide 3 to provide supportive transportation, visit supervision, and casework assistance for children in placement and their families. The role collaborates with caseworkers to deliver services and help families reach goals on the family service plan.

Responsibilities include transporting clients, supervising visits, assisting with home visits and paperwork, and coordinating with families to access benefits.

Qualifications

• One year as a County Social Services Aide 2.
• Graduation from high school or its equivalency, and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of interviewing and obtaining information.
• An associate’s degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of experience in a human services agency.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and parents to and from placement settings, family visits, appointments, school, and emergency placements.
• Supervise family visits and provide observational feedback and documentation to caseworkers.
• Assist caseworkers with home visits, placements, filing, paperwork, and other office transportation needs.
• Coordinate with families, foster parents, and placement staff to help access benefits and participate in planning meetings such as ISP meetings.
• Respond to short-notice transportation needs and work extended or irregular hours when necessary.
• Meet with supervisors to clarify roles and responsibilities and carry out assigned supportive tasks in family situations
