Job summary

Westmoreland County is seeking a County Social Services Aide 1 to support children, youths, families, and individuals with mental disabilities through direct assistance and everyday support. The position requires completing basic tasks, transport, child supervision, and clerical duties as part of a dedicated team. Work schedule is 8:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework is not available. The starting salary is non-negotiable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must meet PA residency requirement.
• Must pass background investigation and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Client Transport: Safe transportation to appointments, court hearings, foster homes, and recreational activities.
• Basic Support: Provide information, assist with daily living tasks, and help maintain homes for clients and families.
• Follow-Up Contacts: Reach out to clients who miss appointments to ensure continued engagement with services.
• Child Supervision: Monitor children during office visits and in crisis situations within the home.
• Clerical Tasks: Complete routine paperwork and maintain waiting and visiting room spaces.
