Job summary

The IDB Group seeks an active graduate student to join as an Intern Consultant in Washington, DC, for two months (January 16 – March 15, 2027). The role focuses on supporting social sector research on economic participation and economic security in Latin America and the Caribbean.

You will assist with data cleaning, econometric analyses, and literature reviews while drafting policy-oriented research papers for the team.

Qualifications

  • Active graduate student in economics, public policy or related field enrolled in a graduate program.
  • Graduation date after the internship period.
  • Knowledge of labor force participation, employment and social sector issues in LMICs.
  • Spanish knowledge is a plus as survey documentation may be in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Support data analysis and drafting of research papers on economic participation and social sector issues in LAC.
  • Clean and harmonize survey data (ENDES, ENAHO, ENOE, ENDIREH, ENASEM/MHAS).
  • Design and implement descriptive and econometric analyses using survey data.
  • Construct policy environment indicators from administrative records and program rules.
  • Contribute to literature reviews and drafting of research papers.
  • Perform additional analytical work as needed by the research team.
