IDB Group in Washington, DC is seeking an intern consultant to assist the Caribbean Department Economics team across multiple streams such as data collection, analysis, and drafting for Caribbean economics periodicals.

The 2027 Winter Internship Program is a competitive paid opportunity based at HQ for university students from member countries to learn development work and gain on-the-job experience; the internship runs January 16 to March 15, 2027, in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Active graduate student (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Economics or related field, graduation after the internship period.
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of another bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.
• Strong drafting and written communication in English; solid data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of Caribbean economics periodicals through data gathering, analysis, and drafting.
• Provide research support for ongoing and emerging activities as needed.
• Support IDB partnership agendas, including the Caribbean Debt Forum and related groups.
• Contribute to other opportunities aligned with candidate’s skills and experience.
