Qualifications

• A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
• B. Combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
• C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

• Independently initiating, designing, and conducting statistical and epidemiologic studies from conception through final analysis, ensuring work meets agency goals and standards.
• Implementing survey methods; managing data collection; analyzing major national databases; and interpreting statistical results.
• Designing and conducting studies and producing written analysis results to inform stakeholders and support prevention-related program improvements.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Social Science Analyst, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

• Coordinating experts and planning efficient use of resources for survey designs, field procedures, and quality systems.
• Developing statistical analyses to produce population estimates and variances and applying advanced statistical theory to understand public health and community needs.

Basic Qualifications

You must possess one of the items listed below (A or B or C):

• A. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
• B. Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
• C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Minimum Qualifications

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

• Planning and coordinating programs to enhance public health evaluation, quality improvement, and monitoring activities;
• Developing and implementing analytic systems and methods to evaluate community needs for effectiveness and efficiency;
• Drafting, reviewing, and editing evaluation and performance reports; and
• Collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
