Job summary

Romantical, a romantic comedy media company, seeks a producer-editor-creator who lives and breathes internet video, loves romance and comedy, and wants to help shape where media goes. The role starts as project-based, contract work with a trial period, with potential for equity as we scale. NYC-based, in-person shoots as needed.

You’ll curate content, edit podcasts for social clips, invent posting formats, and produce quick-turn videos while iterating on data to optimize hooks.

Romantical is a romantic comedy media company building the future of the genre across film, short-form, and everything in between. We're looking for a producer-editor-creator who lives and breathes modern internet video, loves romance and comedy as much as we do, and wants to help shape where media is going, not just keep up with it.

This starts as project-based, contract work with a trial period of a few months. If it clicks, it grows quickly from there. We're looking for a true partner who wants to build something meaningful with us, not just clock hours—with real potential for massive growth and an equity position in the company as we scale.

What you'll be expected to do!

Recontextualize & Curate Content: Comb through our feature films, shorts, and existing Romantical IP, as well as broader romantic comedy culture and zeitgeist moments, finding clever, creative ways to reframe, edit, and repurpose them into high-performing short-form video for IG Reels and TikTok.

Podcast Editing: Pull peak narrative, hilarious, or relatable moments from podcast recordings and translate them into captivating social clips.

Format Innovation: Invent a signature daily/weekly posting format for our social channels, then execute and refine it.

Quick-Turn Production: Shoot quick, self-contained content on your own when an idea or viral moment strikes.

Iterate on Data: Watch performance metrics closely, analyze what hooks people, and use those learnings to sharp-turn the next batch.

Just be ambitious as f*ck: Be good, or be able to be great at things like Canva, YouTube Thumbnail creation, convincing locations to let us film in them for free, making sure people have fun and represent Romantical in a positive and caring light.

You Are Someone Who

Gets the Vibe: You love romance, comedy, and the place where internet culture meets real feeling. Romantical has a specific sensibility, and you get it instinctively.

Understands Internet Video: You know why content works—not just that it works—and you have real ambition for the future of digital storytelling.

Edits at a High Level: Fluent in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects. You're fast, precise, and tech-savvy across social editing workflows. You care about the sound mix too.

Shoots Confidently: Comfortable on DSLR/cinema systems and iPhones alike. You have a pick-up-a-camera-and-go mentality and you know that you don't need a full crew to make something look great. Sony FX line knowledge is a plus.

Knows Social Strategy: Trends, audio formats, pacing, posting cadence, and what actually hooks attention.

Is NYC-Based: Located in New York City and available for in-person shoots as needed.
