Vast, based in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior/Staff Social Media Strategist to shape and execute social programs that align with our mission of advancing space infrastructure. You’ll lead cross-functional collaboration within Communications, Marketing, and Design to elevate our presence across key audiences.

The role is full-time, exempt, and anchored in our Long Beach office with opportunities to influence global messaging and brand reputation in a fast-paced startup environment.

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.
Headquartered in Long Beach, California, and with more than 1,000 employees and over a billion dollars in private capital, Vast has built the facilities required to manufacture and operate America’s next space station. The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.
Vast is seeking a Senior/Staff Social Media Strategist to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Communications, the Social Media Strategist/Manager will work as a collaborative part of the Communications, Marketing, and Design team and be responsible for the day-to-day management of Vast’s social media platforms, including creating, planning, and implementing digital strategies that compliment business objectives and increase visibility across key target audiences.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the social media presence and activities for Vast
• Work with the broader Marketing, Communications, and Design team to translate our programs, milestones, and messaging to our social platforms, ensuring our social strategy ladders up to and supports our business goals
• Advise internal business partners on effective use of social media, including paid and organic campaign strategy and design, content creation, execution, targeting to specific audiences/regions, and success measurement
• Assist with day-to-day social activities (writing copy, coordinating assets, monitoring audience engagement, setting up paid opportunities), aligning closely Marketing and Brand team and other internal stakeholders
• Work closely with senior leaders to develop and advise on LinkedIn presence and strategy, including editorial calendar management, execution, and analytics reporting
• Aggregate analytics and reporting activities on a weekly and/or monthly basis for organic social media activities across all channels
• Obtain necessary reviews and approvals for social media content to ensure regulatory and internal compliance
• Manage social media content calendars
• Monitor and protect the Vast’s online reputation, working with internal and external partners to track social media comments, brand sentiment, and activity within the online community
• Partner with communications and compliance teams to ensure Vast’s social media policy and regulatory requirements are observed throughout the company
• Constantly audit current social media channels and identify new channel opportunities and strategic partnerships with key influencers

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a startup environment or in tech
• Experience distilling technical products and processes into simple, digestible bits of communication
• Relentlessly curious and unwilling to settle for surface level understanding. Be ready to become an expert on all things Vast
• Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment

Additional Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Pay Range: California
$102,664—$180,000 USD
We calibrate level and compensation to the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated capability. We welcome applicants across a range of experience levels to apply.
