Job summary

Earthjustice is seeking a Social Media Associate to support awareness, advocacy, and engagement efforts across social platforms. You’ll work on social listening, content development, and analytics as part of a 12-person Marketing team within Communications.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week), with hybrid options in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, or Washington, DC. Salary ranges vary by location: SF/NYC $80,300-$89,200; LA/Chicago/DC $76,300-$84,800.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in social media, digital communications, or a related field.
• Exceptional written communication and copywriting skills.
• Experience in nonprofit, legal, or issue advocacy.
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project timelines.
• Strong understanding of social platforms and community management best practices.
• Proficiency with social media management, listening, and reporting platforms such as Brandwatch, Sprout Social, and/or Hootsuite.
• Basic design or video editing experience using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Earthjustice social platforms daily and engage with audiences through comments and conversations.
• Draft social media copy in collaboration with social team for use across platforms.
• Support reporting & analytics by pulling regular reports on social media metrics and campaign performance.
• Maintain social content calendars; Coordinate content reviews and publishing workflows.
• Stay informed on platform updates and evolving social media best practices; support cross-functional initiatives.
