This role is REMOTE but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, MI - Cadillac Tower, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation.
The General Motors Global Social Marketing team is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Social Media strategist to support the social media and brand engagement efforts for the Cadillac Racing account for IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing series.
This individual will assist in managing the social media presence across platforms, supporting the execution of campaigns that align with the racing brand’s key customer demographics. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that social content is relevant, engaging, and consistent across channels, while supporting broader social media strategies for Cadillac’s motorsports initiatives.
As a social-first thinker with a passion for motorsports and digital trends, you’ll assist in managing content calendars, collaborating with internal teams and agencies, and fostering a loyal, engaged racing social community. Your ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and your experience in social media execution will help elevate the brand’s presence and meet KPIs like reach, engagement, and brand loyalty. Prior experience and/or passion for IMSA, WEC racing, endurance racing, and motorsports culture is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Planning Support: Assist in developing evergreen social media strategies and racing-focused content, ensuring alignment with content pillars, race education, seasonal calendars, and event-specific needs.
- Content Calendar Coordination: Help manage the social media calendar around racing schedules, ensuring timely delivery of race weekend content, behind-the-scenes footage, and driver spotlights, while coordinating with legal and third-party partners for approvals.
- Channel Management Support: Assist in managing Cadillac Racing social channels, ensuring content is optimized for each platform, especially for real-time race content and live coverage.
- Community Development & Engagement: Support the development of racing communities, managing relationships with influencers, drivers, team members, and UGC initiatives to foster brand advocacy.
- Project Management Support: Help organize meetings, coordinate content planning, and track project milestones for race weekends.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams throughout content development to ensure successful execution.
- Metrics Reporting Assistance: Collaborate with analytics teams to gather data, provide insights, and help refine future strategies.
- Platform Best Practices: Maintain relationships with platform partners and stay informed on innovative racing content strategies.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all content reflects Cadillac Racing’s brand tone, voice, and messaging, maintaining the V-Series Racing heritage.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on social media and motorsports trends to develop timely strategies, including meme culture and fan engagement tactics.
- Global Coordination Support: Assist in aligning content strategies across global racing teams and markets to resonate with IMSA and WEC audiences.
Requirements
- Experience: >1 year in social media, content development, or community management, with understanding of platforms and trends, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Platform Expertise: Familiarity with Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc., and best practices for engaging content.
- Creative Passion: Ability to create content aligned with brand tone and voice.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills with attention to detail.
- Collaboration: Effective team player with external and internal teams.
- Proactive Approach: Self-starter focused on results and problem-solving.
- Travel: Willing to travel to North American racing events during IMSA and WEC seasons for content capture and fan engagement.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Business, or related field.
Preferred
- Knowledge of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA WEC.
- Understanding of endurance racing and fan culture.
- Experience with automotive or motorsports brands.
- Experience with live event social media coverage.
Compensation
- Base salary: $76,100 - $121,600, depending on factors.
- Bonus potential based on company and individual performance.
