GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

This role will be responsible for strengthening Kratos’ brand visibility, advancing executive and enterprise thought leadership, and driving integrated content campaigns across business units and corporate functions.

The ideal candidate brings a sophisticated understanding of corporate storytelling in highly regulated and government-facing environments, with the ability to translate complex technical and policy-driven topics into compelling, credible digital content. As a member of the communications team, this role will work with senior leadership, Kratos’ divisions, and government affairs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Social Media Strategy & Growth
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate social media strategy aligned with Kratos’ business/divisional objectives, brand positioning, and government affairs priorities.
  • Grow and engage Kratos’ audience across priority platforms (including LinkedIn, X, and other relevant channels) while maintaining a professional, credible, and mission-focused voice.
  • Monitor trends, policy discussions, and defense/national security conversations to proactively position Kratos within relevant dialogues.
Thought Leadership & Executive Presence
  • Elevate Kratos’ thought leadership by promoting executive insights, company perspectives, and subject‑matter expertise across social platforms.
  • Amplify senior executives’ speeches, media coverage, policy positions, and conference participation.
  • Support executive social media presence where appropriate, ensuring consistency with corporate messaging and compliance requirements.
Content Development & Campaigns
  • Plan, create, and manage high-quality social media content, including copy, visuals, short‑form video, and campaign assets.
  • Drive coordinated content campaigns across the enterprise, collaborating with internal stakeholders to highlight innovations, contracts, milestones, culture, and mission impact.
  • Ensure alignment with broader corporate communications, government affairs, and division business development/marketing initiatives.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all social media activities adhere to corporate governance standards, regulatory requirements, and security considerations relevant to a defense and government contractor.
  • Monitor social channels for reputational risks and support crisis communications efforts as needed.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Track performance metrics and analyze engagement, reach, and audience growth to measure effectiveness.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to the VP of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs, with recommendations for optimization and growth.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Experience and Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, authoritative messaging.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics, content performance metrics, and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in using the suites of tools necessary to create visuals, short‑form video, and assets to support/accompany social media campaigns.
  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills.
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
  • Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing, and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment, and changes, and more.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED
  • Experience supporting government affairs, public policy, or national security communications.
  • Proven experience building thought leadership and managing executive‑level content on social platforms.
  • Familiarity with public company considerations.
  • Experience working in a matrixed, enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 4-8+ years of experience managing corporate or institutional social media, preferably within defense, aerospace, government, technology, or similarly regulated industries.
