Job description

Our client in the health and personal care space is hiring a Social Media Manager!

The Role

We're looking for a resourceful, fast, and community-focused Social Media Manager to run organic social channels and bring monthly campaigns to life from content planning and shoots to publishing, engagement, and reporting. The content should feel candid and authentic, using real people, locations, and lo-fi moments to drive connection, participation, and sharing. Most days are spent with the team, with occasional shoots in the community, and you'll primarily be behind the camera while occasionally appearing on camera.

What You’ll Own First
  • Content Calendar: Schedule, publish, and cross-post content across major social platforms while keeping a high-volume pipeline organized.
  • Campaign Execution: Bring monthly and seasonal concepts to life, coordinating shot lists, talent, locations, props, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Content Production: Shoot and edit lifestyle photo and video using film, digital cameras, and iPhone. Source talent and locations and direct shoots.
  • Community Activations: Execute street interviews, pop-ups, giveaways, creator collaborations, and other real-world activations.
  • Community & Brand Voice: Manage daily comments, DMs, and conversations while building relationships with creators, athletes, celebrities, and relevant accounts.
  • Testing & Reporting: Repurpose approved content, test new hooks and formats, identify organic winners for paid, and report weekly performance insights.
What You’ll Bring
  • Roughly one to two years running social channels or executing campaigns through a brand, agency, freelance work, or your own projects.
  • A portfolio showing content you personally planned, shot, edited, published, or managed.
  • Strong organization across calendars, shoots, platforms, and large asset libraries.
  • Hands-on experience with lifestyle photography, short-form video, and fast editing.
  • Native-level fluency in TikTok and Reels, with a sharp sense of humor and strong instincts for trends, hooks, comments, and shareable formats.
  • Resourcefulness to find models, locations, props, and creative solutions within a lean budget.
  • Confidence directing talent, interacting with the public, and occasionally appearing on camera.
  • Strong plus: familiarity with Southern California beach, fitness, surf, and outdoor culture. Surfing or another ocean sport is a strong plus.
