Here in the UK, we employ around 5,000 people across the country to deliver services that have a profound impact on people's lives. From assessments and health services to employability programmes and specialist support, we do work that matters with people who care.

This role acts as the team lead for organic social media planning, creation, and evaluation, while also overseeing governance, evaluation, and community management processes. Maximus has seen a rise in the number of accounts we operate, up to more than 20, and a single role is required. The successful candidate will lead monthly social media planning meetings with support from the PR Manager, working with team members and the wider business to advise on social media strategy and tactics, developing organic campaigns where required.

Salary: £32,000 to £37,000 (Non-London), £37,000 to £42,000 (London). Home-based with occasional travel to team meetings and other business-related meetings. Benefits include:

This role would suit someone with experience working in a corporate environment and creating innovative content for multiple audiences. Experience in producing thought leadership content, ideally within the public services sector, would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading social media content planning and evaluation through established processes, including monthly planning meetings and overview slides, using audience segmentation and content evaluations to improve quality.
  • Collaborating with Communications and Marketing teams to strengthen social media output and produce, evaluate, and improve organic content aligned with company branding and growth priorities.
  • Developing engaging campaigns and content, following social media trends and algorithm changes.
  • Ensuring internal governance processes are followed to maintain quality and mitigate reputational risks, escalating breaches as necessary.
  • Managing community engagement across social media platforms, including responding to comments and complaints appropriately.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Managing social media accounts and developing organic campaigns
  • Understanding audience engagement and platform nuances (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok)
  • Evaluating social media campaigns across channels
  • Developing social media content for a large or corporate organization (preferred)

Individual Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of posting, scheduling, and evaluating social media content
  • Copywriting skills and attention to detail
  • Awareness of social media's role and reputational risks for organizations like Maximus
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage multiple projects
